Obituary for Jeanette "Ghazal" Elias-Dib
Jeanette Elias-Dib (Ghazal) age 73 of Shelton, beloved wife of over 50 years to the late George Ghazal died peacefully on Tuesday July 25, 2017. Born in Tripoli, Lebanon, she was the daughter of Elias and Mariana Gramesty Dib. A resident of the Monroe and Shelton area for over 17 years, she was an active and devoted member of St. Nicholas Syrian Orthodox Church and its Ladies Auxiliary. A kind and gentle woman who will be sadly missed by all whose lives she touched.
Survivors include her children: Antoine Ghazal and family of Monroe, Therese Ghazal and family of Beirut, Jean Ghazal, Maurice Ghazal and Dolly Ghazal Uyar and their families all of Shelton. Brother Joseph Dib of Venezuela, sister Josephine Dib of Beirut, 11 grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to attend the Rite of Burial on Saturday July 29, 2017 at 10am in St. Nicholas Antiochian Orthodox Church, 5458 Park Ave, Bridgeport followed by interment in St. John Cemetery, Monroe. Calling hours will take place on Saturday from 9am until time of service in the church. The Commerce Hill Funeral Home, 4798 Main St. Bridgeport has been entrusted with the services. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital in memory of Jeanette.
