Obituary for Alfred Sagalski

Alfred Sagalski
Alfred William Sagalski, age 94, of Bridgeport, beloved husband of 61 years of Irene Tomaszewski Sagalski, passed away in the early hours of
January 22, 2017. He was born on January 7th 1923 in Jermyn, PA. He was the son of the late Frank and Ann Sagalski. He graduated from Dickson City High School and continued on to trade school to become a printer. He served in Guam during WWII in the Army Air Corps. He retired from the Stamford Advocate where he worked until the age of 72. He was an avid golfer and bowler. He enjoyed watching UCONN basketball along with taking trips to the casino with his wife. He was an usher and member of the Holy Name Society at Saint Michael the Archangel Church. He was a member of the American Legion Post 177.

He is survived by his wife Irene, daughters Catherine Lenoci and husband Ralph of Shelton, CT, Laura Sagalski of Hampton, NH, Mary Koziel and husband Ritch of West Haven, CT, his sons William Sagalski and wife Joan of Seymour, CT, and Daniel Sagalski of Ridgefield, CT. His grandchildren include Jessica Apicella and her husband Joe, Anthony Lenoci and his wife Julia, John Lenoci and his fiancé Alex Posca, Brandon Koziel, Kevin Sagalski and great grandson Oliver Apicella and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his four sisters. The family would like to thank all of his caregivers, especially Leslie Cichon and Ursula Kaplinski.

Calling hours will take place on Tuesday January 24, 2017 from 4 to 7pm in the Commerce Hill Radozycki Funeral Home, 4798 Main St. Bridgeport. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10am in St. Michael the Archangel Church, Bridgeport followed by interment in St. Johns Cemetery, Stratford with full military honors. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Saint Michael the Archangel Church in Bridgeport, in memory of Alfred.
